Description of the excursion:
Reached Calimera, an evocative little
country village in Apulia we head for
the Gurgulante dolmen, this monuments
were used as grave in ancient times.
Then we pursuit the Placa dolmen, it is
locates in area of great naturalistic
and archaeological interest, the
characteristics of the dolmen have
remained intact over the centuries so
now it is possible for us admire them.
Then we head for Zollino that is a
little village in the Grecìa Salentina,
where we can admire the Menhir of The
Stazione, which is about 4,30 metres,
and the Sant’Anna Menhir locates near a
little chapel. In the Zollino
countryside there is another interesting
witness, the Granzari dolmen. Afterwards
we reach the small village of Martano,
not far from Zollino, here we can admire
Specchia of Mori, and Santo Totaro
Menhir that is the most tall of Puglia.
In the end we reach Carpignano Salentino
where will visit Croce Grande Menhir
according to legend this monuments hide
a treasure.
